Bill Clinton supposedly told George Bush that his biggest regret as president is not killing or capturing Osama Bin Laden......and he supposedly had several opportunities to do so.....however he allowed political corrected 'ness to get in the way every time.

Sigh, I can remain silent no longer. The only thing the Clinton admin did with power was to enjoy it. They turned their backs on foreign policy in general and especially on the military. They allowed us to continue with a military designed to fight a high tech war against some imaginary opponent long after all the opponents were vanquished. They failed to create the military that was necessary for the new world order, the military capable of transforming societies and doing the "hearts and minds" stuff. It was clear we would have to depose some bad actors in the dangerous parts of the world. No problem. Our military could have taken down a Saddam every month. We ended that "war" in no time. What we were totally unprepared for was a long term occupation and fighting a jihadist insurgency. The only time Clinton tried that in Somalia he pulled out at the first sight of blood. Bush had no choice but to use the military we had and they did a great job in the combat phase. But then we were without the new world military we needed because Clinton had failed to give even a thought to it. We have learned a lot from Iraq. We can't afford another president like Clinton or Obama.
