you don't need any qualification to be in politics. It's a democracy, only thing that counts is the people voting for you!

raising minimum wage also increases unemployment.

The president of a major publicly traded toilet cleaning business is probably no longer cleaning toilets any more. But, he probably did start out cleaning toilets. And he probably first worked as an employee of someone else's janitorial services. Next, he started his own janitorial service, but it probably started out as a one-man band type of deal and so, at first, he probably cleaned a lot of toilets even though he was the owner. And, of course, once that janitorial service has grown into a major publicly-traded corporation, yeah, he probably doesn't clean many toilets any more. But the lesson to be learned is this. You can take two people and give them jobs cleaning toilets. And they might well have two entirely different reactions. One might feel dejected and hate his job because he makes very small amounts of money for cleaning other people's (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) toilets. But the other might take the opportunity and run with it, learning everything he possibly can about the toilet cleaning business, and then starting his own business and taking it public. In short, you can hate your job because it is a low-paying dead-end job or you can analyze the industry that you are working in and figure out how to make a business opportunity out of it.

We have a decent minimum wage over here and yet our rate of unemployment is less than that of the US.
So what is so wrong over there?

I want 5 million outside of investments just to play with. At 5% interest I get over 20,800 a month for doing nothing. I will invest also, but I want cash to travel and for fun.

"I know I am the boss, because I clean the toilets." Some famous French architect said this. I don't remember who it was, the story was told to me by someone else.

Just randomly flashed on that memory. Seemed vaguely Germane.
