At any rate, it's a problem. The issue is that all Obama offers is talk on the issue. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Most Republicans talk a good talk about needing to protect the environment.

I think he's in a good position to try and push policies that advocate responsibility, but I don't feel that he's going to do so. I haven't even heard him pushing for making black/white adoption easier/possible.

Some people will make a big deal about these statements but I personally believe it's just common sense. Any population of people no matter what race, or any individual for that matter that wants to improve their situation needs make changes. His statements do not negate the fact that many communities in this country need and deserve assistance. They also do not negate the fact that minority populations are in difficult situations substantially due to forces outside of their control. Ultimately his words ring of hope, and positive action to me.

For what it's worth, here's the latest study on births in the United States.
http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr56/nvsr56_06.pdf

37% of all births in the United States are out of wedlock.

Teen births have fallen to the lowest level on record, not exactly what you would expect if people were shirking morality and responsibility.

Broken down by race, the percent of births that were out-of-wedlock looks like this:

Asian: 16.2%
Whites: 25.3%
Hispanics: 48%
American Indians: 63.5%
Blacks: 69.9%

At least now you can use accurate numbers.
The numbers tell you out of wedlock, if it wasn't such a nightmare problem, Obama would need to say anything. It is a nightmare and the black community needs to step up to the plate, and I salute Obama for saying something. The NAACP blasted Cosby for saying what needed to be said, now maybe these race dividers like Jackson and Sharpton will be seen for what they really are...racist pigs.

No (*)(*)(*)(*), I could have told them that.

it takes the Messiah for them to listen? yep, he won't make any change. MLK hated huge crowds. he liked to go down into the deep roots of the problems. obama just stands at the top of the mountaintop gleaming over all the other blacks, saying come, try and get me. ahahha.

he is such a farce.

Well, there's this from his website:
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/family/

Long list of stuff. Specifically on fatherhood, there's this:

Strengthen Fatherhood and Families: Since 1960, the number of American children without fathers in their lives has quadrupled, from 6 million to more than 24 million. Children without fathers in their lives are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime, nine times more likely to drop out of school, and 20 times more likely to end up in prison. Barack Obama has re-introduced the Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families Act to remove some of the government penalties on married families, crack down on men avoiding child support payments, ensure that support payments go to families instead of state bureaucracies, fund support services for fathers and their families, and support domestic violence prevention efforts. As president, Obama will sign this bill into law and continue to implement innovative measures to strengthen families.

Support Parents with Young Children: Barack Obama would expand programs like the successful Nurse-Family Partnership to all low-income, first-time mothers. The Nurse-Family Partnership provides home visits by trained registered nurses to low-income expectant mothers and their families. The trained nurses use proven methods to help improve the mental and physical health of the family by providing counseling on substance abuse, creating and achieving personal goals, and effective methods of nurturing children. Proven benefits of these types of programs include improved women's prenatal health, a reduction in childhood injuries, fewer unintended pregnancies, increased father involvement and women's employment, reduced use of welfare and food stamps, and increased children's school readiness. Researchers at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis concluded that these programs produced an average of five dollars in savings for every dollar invested and produced more than $28,000 in net savings for every high-risk family enrolled in the program. The Obama plan would assist approximately 570,000 first-time mothers each year.

I'm sure he sponsored bills on the topic in both Illinois and Washington. But I don't have time to track them down.

Yes, and a white would be called a racist for making the same remark (Proably get beaten by the mob too).
Since he's half-white does that mean he's half-racist?

Ghettos filled with drop out crack heads are the evidence of black parents not taking responsibility.

69.9% as opposed to 75%. I'm sure those black parents are very proud.

Here's some more black pride for you:

Today, as many as 70 percent of black children are born out of wedlock and 60 percent are raised in fatherless households.-Jeff Jacoby Boston Globe
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/edi...elf_inflicted/

Looks like the excuse you made up to pretend that black fathers are raising their illegitimate children doesn't hold any water.

What's funny is you could look at those numbers and rank which races commit the least amount of crime and that's how it would look. Or which races have children with the greatest success in school and that's how it would look. It's not a coincidence. Once the above is addressed then poverty will be reduced better than any government program could ever hope. Unfortunately that wouldn't be good for the careers of many Democrats.
