already have alternatives to oil. We simply like oil better because it is cheaper at the moment. We have a
domestic supply of coal that will last several hundred years at least.
Oil is cheaper and easier, but it is not our only option.

Demand isnt high enough yet. When enough people become annoyed, refineries will be built.
And as high as prices are, they arent that annoying yet. We still pay
far less than Europeans have been used to paying for years. Its all relative.
