NPR had a story about how Obama has received about twice as many press mentions as McCain since May, and some people thought that was terrible.

But the two most important points were:

1. Obama has been in the middle of a tough primary fight for most of that time, while McCain clinched in March.

2. *More* coverage didn't equal *more favorable* coverage. The stories were about evenly split between positive, negative and neutral.

Why don't you get your little skinny ass over there and find out for yourself, lavell. Word is they're still looking for men with balls and a strong heart. Now's your chance.

GI's feckin hate anyone from Washington flying into a war zone. If you happen to be in a rear area it's hell. There's extra duty and then more in preparation. It (*)(*)(*)(*)s up everything and everyone. Plus GIs inherently distrust civilian pukes and most especially elected ones. There's triple security. Troops are pulled off duty, out of the field, to make certain the dignitaries are safe.

Visiting officials are kept away from everyone who hasn't been pre-approved, even the line doggies are pre-selected and briefed (and that ain't easy, LOL!).

"Yes, sir. I'm getting plenty to eat."

"Yes, sir. The food is great."

"Yes, sir. We know you are doing all you can to bring us home with honor."

"Yes, sir. I hear from my mom often."

"No, sir." I have everything, thank you. I just need more time to kill these bastard who hate my country, sir."

"We are honored that you are here, sir."

Stepford Soldiers.

They feckin hate and distrust everyone from Washington. The visit makes their lives worse, not better. It has nothing to do with political party, lavell. Not everyone is a partisan slut. Not every situation is political.
