I'm glad Bush is safe. Cheney as President would be like going from Gomer Pyle to Sauron. Bush is so crazy, I'm glad he's inept, or he could've gotten billions of people killed by now. Cheney, I think, can play chess. And he's definitely one of those guys who reads in the bathroom. Plus he's evil in a way previously possible only for cartoon characters. I like that he has to spend so much time and energy keeping Bush from sinking his company. I had always wondered what it would be like if George Bush Sr. and Dan Quayle had swapped jobs, and George Bush Jr. and Dick Cheney have pretty much shown me that.

Plus, he's a tragic screw-up but he's our tragic screw-up and we treat our tragic screw-ups better than that. We give them security guards for life and careers as professional celebrities. I'm actually kind of looking forward to Bush's inevitable talk-show. Or maybe he can be a permanent guest on whatever show Bill Maher is doing.

Nobody should mess with Bush. Ignore, certainly. Ridicule, constantly. But no attempts on his life. He's less dangerous alive.

Now, if we could maybe figure out a way to make him join the other side ...
