Naturally, the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”

Hermann Goering, Hitler’s number 2 man, testifying at the Nuremberg trials

"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." - James Madison

Quote:
you seem to suggest that support of the war demands personal service.

Tell me then, who will run the jobs and businesses that provide the funds, via taxes, to support this war if we all quit our jobs and go to Iraq?
Again, if you support the war, you need to enlist in the military and go fight. There will still be plenty of people working here to keep the economy going. And government will still have the authority to send armed men to our homes to take money from us by force if we refuse to pay our taxes to support your glorious war.

#5: Chickenhawk. Its simple and requires no personal thought. This tactic has been used over time to our advantage.Even though logic and reason defy the entire concept of chickenhawk,we still should employ it at every turn to keep the image alive for our cause.

I was an American History minor with almost enough hours to have a major. How about you?

I'm assuming you are posting this from Iraq or Afghanistan and have an AK-47 right next to you and a few sticks of dynamite attached to your chest. I mean, obviously, if you oppose this war, you would definitely be over there shooting American soldiers and preparing to blow yourself up.

Again, if you oppose the war, you need to enlist in Al Queda and go fight. There will still be plenty of people hugging trees here to continue to be a worthless drain on the economy. And government will still ensure that its citizens have more freedom and opportunity than any other country in the world. And the tree huggers will still be (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about paying taxes to support the war instead of just moving to a country like France.

Hey, I frequently camp out on an island that's on the reservoir that you pass on the way to the Comcast Center. You had to pass it. It was on your left when you approached the Center. We set up tents, light a big campfire, cook steak tips, smoke bud, drink beer and play guitars until nightfall. Then we can listen to whoever's playing at the Center. I've heard KISS, the Allman Brothers, the Doobie Brothers, Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. and because you're on a lake, the sound is totally clear. Plus, the police have never bothered us in the many years that we've been there.

It's cool to know that even with people all over the world on this board, someone has come close to my region.
Ive found throughout my life the world is indeed a small place.Ive travelled alot and the coincidences Ive encountered are astounding.

Tuesday night-Staind,Hinder and 3 Doors Down @ Comcast (lol)

I really only care for Staind but Ill be with freinds so it will be a grand ol time Im sure. Also taking a limo and wont have to worry about Mansfields finest.

Really? You mean just combat roles, right? Because there were a few hundred thousand women in the military during WW II, serving their country.

How exactly do logic and reason defy the entire concept of chickenhawk, when Wolfowitz, Cheney, W et al were the force behind getting the war in Iraq going in the first place?
