Default What happened to Eddie Vedder?

Man I loved that guy but these days he's falling apart.

Saw them a couple of weeks ago.Music was tight as always, setlist a little weak IMHO and he kept the political lid on it for as long as he could possibly resist it seemed BUT...

During the encore he took the opportunity to point out that there was a Marine recruiting kiosk on the grounds of the COMCAST Center, which I passed on the way in.He thought it odd that it existed there (as did I) but then he went on proclaim he was ecstatic that not one person signed up.Does this represent support for the troops?

He rails against this all the while Im being bombarded by COMCAST flags every five feet walking towards the pavillion, being enticed to buy 9.00 a cup Bud keg beer after being exposed to Mansfields new ZERO tolerance policy for alcohol in the parking lot and being gaffed for 82.00 with service charges (remember, Eddies other cause) on a ticket that carried a 60.00 facevalue bought thru ticketmaster.

Of all the things Eddie couldve been vocal about he chose this (to the dismay of the crowd who seemed to grow strangely silent momentarily).

Sad.

Have you signed up? I assume you're posting from Iraq or Afganistan.

LOL. I guess that's why he doesn't want Vedder bringing that up - because he was hiding at the concert instead of signing up himself...

That argument is getting a little weary.

Pearl Jam. Sigh. They were so cool at the time of their first album. What an enigmatic and powerful work of art it was. The second was very good as well. It was a bad move for them to take on Ticketmaster. Rebel without a clue, that Eddie.

Hey, I frequently camp out on an island that's on the reservoir that you pass on the way to the Comcast Center. You had to pass it. It was on your left when you approached the Center. We set up tents, light a big campfire, cook steak tips, smoke bud, drink beer and play guitars until nightfall. Then we can listen to whoever's playing at the Center. I've heard KISS, the Allman Brothers, the Doobie Brothers, Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. and because you're on a lake, the sound is totally clear. Plus, the police have never bothered us in the many years that we've been there.

It's cool to know that even with people all over the world on this board, someone has come close to my region.

Your failure to refute it is what's getting weary. All you guys need to get over to Iraq if you support this war. If you don't, your actions (voting to empower politicians to continue this war) are hypocritical.

A lot of us on the board have indeed served.

I'll assume you'll be deploying to Kosovo soon, "Clinton's War".

You might be weary of it, but the argument is sound. "Support the troops" means more than a made-in-china yellow ribbon magnet on your Hummer filled with Arab oil.

The chickenhawks in the administration have done everything they can to make this war sacrifice-free for all but the soldiers and their families. America didn't used to treat war that way, and that's why people now just sit back and take it.

I bet you said the same thing to all the women who took up jobs during WWII.

Those silly women thought they were supporting the war when they went to work making sure that the country still ran well and the economy didn't collapse. Silly women!

Lol, I guess I should say that if you oppose this war, you need to go over there and start shooting American soldiers. If you aren't doing that, you must not oppose this war.

Voted against Clinton twice, just as I voted against Bush twice. I don't support any overseas intervention by U.S. forces.
