We have no credit cards and I love it. No annual fees, no interest and no additional bills to track down. We use our debit cards (which is also treated like a credit card and most places around here would also accept credit cards as well).

Most of our bills are paid online and we set things like our mortgage payment up to pay on the same day for the next 3 months so we only have to do a transaction quarterly....our phone bill, power bill etc all come quarterly as well.

When I first moved here, I was still recieving some monies from the US in check form and when I went to deposit them in the account here in Sweden...I FREAKED the bank out LOL! They were in a tizzy, all running to other employees to find out what to do with these alien things. Of course in the end, the joke was on me cause they charged me a nasty fee PER CHECK.

I have them i use them I pay them. Sometimes a little late. America seems to have more then any other country i have been in. I rarely have cash in my pocket now. i just pull out the trusty plastic and off i go.

Ok, this is what i'm used to. No credit cards, and banks really look at cheques as prehistoric. I talked to my banker a couple of months ago, he really was astounded by some of the Americans that where here and who insisted on cheque money transfer instead of wire transfer.
