First off, so that we're all on the same page, let's restate that everything in this discussion is hypothetical. Because my ideas on how everything in the ME should be going and how they arere going in reality are different in many ways and I don't want to get drawn into an off topic debate.

Life has value because with it you can do many things. Enslavement degrades the value of life because it limits what you can and can't do and most would say that said limitations would be a cause to go to war for.

With that said (and keeping in mind this is hypothetical) the idea that one would risk his life in war seems reasonable.

Life has value, but there will always be struggles and because of that there will always be people dying for the sake of living. It sounds oxymoronic but any group of people strong enough to do so will overthrow their ruler if enough of their freedoms are inhibited even though revolution will undoubtedly be bloody.

If you take a human body and separate it into its constituent chemicals, its economic value doesn't add up to much.

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

I have no idea why I am here; or for how long but I value the reality I find myself in. I have a love for life and a will to live it; as fully and as best I can - according to my moral code. I have no god. When I die - it's over.

It's something of a game; I try to be a Good Sport (yes, I know, I don't always succeed......need to keep training.)
