What is the value of human life? I say it has no value and is just a vanity of Man thinking his existence on the planet is of some consequence or importance , which it's not. The planet would do just fine if not better if we weren't here. The idea of Man being the rulers over the domain of this planet to me is laughable when a tornado can wipe us off the planet in a spilt second or a bacteria can kill us off in matter of a few days. This came to mind in another thread where I was being called out as not caring for those that were drunks and druggies. I really don't care if you do yourselves in with drugs just don't hold your hand out for medical help at everyone else's expense. If you can spend the money to destroy your life fine, just bear the consequence when you fall ill.

Don't get me wrong I help other human beings i just don't cry about those that could care less for themselves. If they die what difference does it make? What value do they hold? Is it just that some of us feel guilt and then are compelled to pretend to care? I know the Bible pushes Guilt on the masses but I'm not a religious person I'm a Realist and people die everyday and then more are born, so what's the value?

If human life has no value then nothing has value, as value is just a concept of a human mind.
Without human life, the concept of value has no value.

Would the value of a human life be what that life produces?

So if you raise productive children - your value increases.
If you produce wealth for your employer - your value increases.

so on and so forth.

No. That would require the things people produce to have value... and they have no value independent of human life.

More life? If life's value is dependent on production, why is more life more valuable?
This assumes that the employer has some value. Or that wealth has value.
Neither of these can have value independent of human life.

I'd say each life is valuable. Not sure how much but it has value.

In the objective sense...
But as humans, we see value in human life. So it's there and it's important to us.
And I don't see how its lack of objective value should disuade us from continuing to act as though it has value.
