Here is how bel is trying to misrepresent this. He's saying that when you go to the counter and buy the item for $100 they're going to tack on an additional tax at the counter, which is false. You pay what the item costs, the Fair Tax is included in the price of the product. The price of good will be reduced because the tax's incurred during the production process would be obsolete.

Three things:

1. Is the current tax plan we have better or worse than the Fair Tax? If it's better then please explain why.

2. Is it really so out of the question to ask that our government reduce their spending, I mean hello folks, we're 9 trillion dollars in debt and counting.

3. The Fair Tax is by far the most transparent system and easy to follow, the current tax code is a few thousand pages and crammed full of loopholes and tax breaks. It's time to level the playing field.
There is no better way than Fair Tax, unless you went to a set level Flat Income Tax.

democrats will never let that happen! They simply cannot fund their "welfare for votes" campaigns with the limited funds such a system would provide!

2. Yes, I do support it. It would be a huge savings to our country and a great sigh of relief to be rid of the IRS
3. Rich people who spend the most money on luxury would pay the most taxes. Drug dealers, pimps, illegal aliens all would pay taxes on the amount purchased. Less loopholes, tax shelters.
As long as the process is transparent and precautions are taken to prevent fraud in the background, I could support this.

Based on the tax revenue from the countries that implement a flat tax today, there would not be the limited funds that you claim there would be. In fact, tax revenue would be about the same, it would just be spread out in a fair way.

Federal revenues have less to do with marginal tax rates and more to dowith GDP. As GDP increases so do federal revenues.
