Do you have any quotes to back that up? I haven't heard any Americans call our soldiers terrorists. Foreigners don't count. We can't hang them.

So what should we do when our soldiers do something disgraceful? Sweep it under the rug and pretend nothing happened?

So, you want to make it treason to express negative opinions towards our troops and president, even if one doesn't make any attempt to act on those negative opinions. Does that pretty much sum up your stance here? You want us to be more like China, North Korea, Iran, Soviet Russia, Nazi Germany. Is that correct?

I'd have thought from most of yor posts that you didn't like those countries.

I believe he's referring to people that equate the war with terrorism...
Of course the reasoning is ridiculous since the soldiers are widely viewed as doing their job.
When people say that they are engaging in hyperbole about the people who make wars.
They may be wrongheaded, but people who call them traitors are far more wrongheaded.

Either that or he's referring to people who point out actual abuses committed by soldiers in Iraq. Often people exaggerate the prevalence of these evil deeds and attribute them to the military leadership (who usually have nothing to do with it), but is ittraitorous to point them out? I don't think so.

How can you call yourself American, Lavell? If you are so quick to broadly label people un-American, why don't you turn the rose-colored glasses on yourself? What better way to betray the Constitution and the values that this country supposedly represents than to call for the deaths of those who disagree with you? That makes you no better than the Muslim extremists who call Islam the religion of peace while discussing the beheading of those who insult it in the same breath.

Being critical of America's actions or role in the world is not being "anti-American." One can argue that it means actually embracing the ideals America stands for, and pointing out where America's actions fall short.

Sure, there are radicals in every crowd. But disliking what America *does* -- even if expressed in extreme terms -- is not the same thing as "hating America".
