So what? It is ridiculous to say that for religious reasons he didnt support something makes him a fanatic. I dont support abortion for religious reasons that doesnt make me a fanatic if you think it does you are grouping me with islamic extremists who kill people when all I'm doing is not supporting abortion. I'm a Christian and for religious reasons oppose abortion.

He was willing to die for his "convictions" over a minor issue that had everything to do with someone else.

To me, that spells fanaticism.

To me it spells conviction. Besides what your problem? To him it wasnt a minor issue. You arent religious so you wouldnt know. He was being forced to deny the authority of the Pope. Not that i agree with him I'm not Catholic. But you just dont understand your not religious. Besides does that mean he cant have good political points?

It just doesn't seem rational to do such a thing, and I didn't see you as the religious type.

Its not the rational thing to do as you see it. Its a faithful thing to do. As for me being religious yeah you dont often see progressive liberals who are religious. But I'm proud of my religion.
