TYLER, Texas — Attorneys began their closing arguments Saturday morning in the trial of a homemaker who said God ordered her to use rocks to bludgeon two of her sons to death and severely injure a third.

"It was graphic, it was horrific and it was brutal," prosecutor Matt Bingham told the jury of eight men and four women.

Laney, 39, has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to murder in the deaths of 8-year-old Joshua and 6-year-old Luke, and serious injury to a child for the beating of Aaron, now 2.

Bingham pounded his fist in his hand as he recounted Joshua's killing: "He got strike after strike after strike on his head to the point that his brains were coming out of his head like liquid."

You are incorrect in your assumption that my disdain for Texas is because of Bush. It goes beyond that.

My dislike for texas is because that state swore allegiance to the federal govt but then turned around, stabs the union in the back and declares war on the USA.

When Texas was part of Mexico, Texas betrayed Mexico. Texas joined the USA, Texas betrayed the USA. Fortunately, texas failed in their war to destroy the UnitedStates... but now a tejano has set up a 'western whitehouse'... to what end? Undermine the union again like they have done in the past?

First of all, I wasn't defending the woman. In fact, I blasted the bleeding hearts who let her off.
And no.....I won't blast New York just to get to Hillary. .....as you do Texas and Bush. I like New York City....which is the only part of NY I've visited. I go there every year and love it. When 9/11 happened, I couldn't have grieved anymore had it been my own beloved state. Because to me.....we're ALL Americans...and there is something GOOD about every state. I would hope that if a terrorist attack were to occur in Texas, that you would feel the same.

I am from Texas, born and raised in San Antonio, but I ain't gonna lie, we have a *beep* of crazies but I still love this state. Like the dude up there said, every state has their wackos, but Texas is home to some great attractions and some equally great people, not to mention that we are the only state whose flag can fly as high as the American flag, and that isn't even the tip of the iceberg of why I love the Lone Star State.
