I like that answer. That question is the entire abortion issue, and McCain just read off the RTL answer from the brochure.

i agree with you absolutely

Obama refused to step on that obvious land mine. THAT he avoided getting hurt by the question is what pisses them off

Always make me think of Obama faced with a questionarres from lobby groups, as he mentions in 'Audacity'- tick the wrong box and some other democrat gets their endorsement for that primary. Not a good politics.

The answer to when life begins is based on faith and science. There comes a point in time when science can proclaim or ensure life. Prior to that the existence of "life" is based on faith.

This event was in front of people who live a life based on faith.

The problem is that the President of the United States represents ALL Americans. Many of whom practice a different faith, no faith or don't believe in a higher being at all.

This is why politics is such a good spectator sport. By any estimation both sides have been smearing each other directly or through proxies, but it seems like those that can so easily see a smear directed at their candidate have so much trouble seeing it when the lob comes from their side of the net. But while having so much difficulty seeing the smears coming from their side they see all kinds of shadows in the night from the other side no matter how fictitious and willingly participate in the smears they would normally denounce. I mean did people really think there was going to be a get smart style plastic bubble McCain was going to be sitting in? I think some people really do!

Both candidates had the first 2 questions in advance, there was about a 5 minute introduction by Warren, everyone agress that McCain was in the isolation room at 30 minutes in, so at best he could have only listened to what, about 10 minutes of new information that he didn't have before. The question for Obama about supreme court judges came very late in the event, the transcripts are not timestamped but there were several questions and responses before that one came up. If you look at the video transcripts, http://trevinwax.com/2008/08/17/obam...k-forum-video/ the question comes in the 4th out of 5 video clips, near the end, and about 28 minutes of RAW video, no commercials or intro or anything. so probably at least about 40 minutes into the program. So if you believe that he heard the supreme court question you have to think that Warren was lying and McCain was listening to the program in the room with no evidence to support that claim. But please keep it coming I love watching experiments in hypocricy.

Hardly a fair characterisation of efforts- I've seen one explanation as to why McCain mentions a section that he apparently hadn't heard yet, and it was a fairly poor one that ignored McCain's words (sorry Static- atleast you tried, unlike so many others). I'd like you to address it.

I'm watching Obama's section on Youtube- I'm paused at 26:38- just as the crowd loudly draws breath after Warren asks Obama about the current supreme justices. There has been one add break.

I assume, (as it is here) that the adds will last about 2 minutes. A few extra minutes of broadcast(?) before Warren made his joke at the start of this clip? We're hovering at around the 30 min mark, which means its entirely plausable that McCain heard this- so we don't deserve your scorn, as laudably as it was arrived at.

Now you brush aside perhaps 20 mins of McCains potential advantage- and you ignore 20 mins of very real 'new information'- that being Obamas response. If theirs one thing perhaps better than knowing the questions, its knowing your opponents answers. 'Just don't stutter John, we'll play it up in the media!" Get it? Tell me you get it.

Heres the link-
