Thats all well and good. But it is wrong to impose that definition on the majority who dont agree with it. Which is exactly what judicial activists are trying to do.
How do you suppose gays go about getting the same benefits that come along with marriage (but with a different name), nationwide? Whatever it takes for that to happen, needs to happen I think. Be it judicial process, or legislative action. Right now, the legislative process is against it happening, so I see no other option than judicial process. As a matter of fact, isn't that the route that most of these types of issues takes..."Brown vs. Board of education", "Roe vs. Wade", etc.?
