It is very unlikely to be asked but its the only thing that matters to me.

In recent years we have seen increased violations of civil liberties both in the U.S. and abroad (u.s. detainment camps in foreign countries). Freedom of Assembly has been gone for quite some time if you need a permit to protest and freedom cage for said protesters. Freedom to bare arms is constantly attacked. Haebeus corpus was suspended for the last 7 years for alleged terrorists held at gitmo. Every American's phone and emails are monitored and stored. Police can search a house without a warrant and without pressing charges or even telling the owner they stopped by as long as the owner is suspected of having a meth lab or aiding terrorism (read: donating to amnesty international, being a member of environmentalist group, owning a leftist book store etc.)

As a public servant what have you done and what will you do to protect civil liberties for American citizens and for world citizens accused of crimes by the U.S.?
