Just my prediction.

If that were to happen, it would be the best possible thing.
I think it's very important to look at exactly what Palin has accomplished during her years in office in Alaska. First, and foremost, she's taken on the politically corrupt hierarchy of her state AND WON. She's taken on the oil industry there, AND WON. She's taken on the ethics violations of her state's senator (Stevens), and WON.
She's succeeded in resolving many of Alaska's pressing economic problems. She has liberally cleaned house, and wasn't worried about angering the "old boy" network up there. She has the highest approval rating of any governor in the U.S. Even when she was merely a mayor, she was picked by the other mayors in her state to be the president of their association. That means that even the mayors of larger cities, like those of Fairbanks and Juneau, felt that she was able to demonstrate competence in representing their constituencies at the state lobbying level.
In this country, we are faced with some severe challenges. First, I think almost anyone on these boards would agree that our congress is heartbreakingly corrupt (not to mention inept). Sarah Palin has dealt with that issue...EFFECTIVELY. Secondly, because of that corruption, our congress has been incapable of dealing with so many pressing and compelling issues, ranging from the impending social security crisis to a failing federal department of education to crumbling infrastructure (further undermined by unnecessary pork projects like the highway to nowhere, which Sarah Palin killed in Alaska).
Sarah Palin is a person who is capable of seeing larger issues clearly, making clear and consistent decisions, holding to her ethics even when challenged, and who has achieved major results in just 2 years as governor. Imagine what she could do if McCain turned her loose on congress.
