Hurricane Gustav hitting the US at the time the Republicans are holding their convention is God hitting them over the head with a global warming 2x4 to get their attention on the issue since they just don't get it.

Expect more storms with greater intensity in the years to come, the trend has already started. Expect more droughts of longer duration or excess precipitation or temperatures in various regions of the world, this is also beginning to happen. Expect weird observations of disruptions in nature, increases in certain diseases for instance. These and other phenomenon have been predicted or observed by climatologist and other scientists as consequences of excess greenhouse gases (it goes beyond global warming/climate change) for instance ocean acidification which is already happening.
So wake up folks, start being proactive.
