Actually the Iraqi and Vietnamese influx is huge where I live even from before the war. So I doubt they hate America. The point of that is that soem people hate us, some people like us. What you are doing is taking an official political position (Like North Korea's official political opinion of us) and mistaking it for the opinion of all the people.

Yeah, remember all those Iraqis telling the US to go home as they entered the cities? They weren't cheering or yelling down with Saddam, and tearing down his statue. that must have been a figment of my imagination.

O there are two definitions of America. One is America as a territory, the other is all the things America does to the world. America is a beautiful country, I've been there plenty of times, but the things it does, especially imperialistic things are disgusting.

For instance, when people who have just lost all their relatives due to American bombs scream "down with America" they mean the second definition of America. They don't mean that America should go under the ground literally.

The US has seized most of the world riches and therefor people want to benefit of that. In ancient times people also tried to get to Rome, not because the Romans were such good guys, but because the money was there.......................and people got to eat.
