Default The USA is $53 TRILLION in Debt--Does Anyone Care???

That's the sum of all the US government's current financial obligations including unfunded promises for Social Security and Medicare - a $175,000 bill for every man, woman and child in this country.

Does anyone give a rip about this???

Yep. But I'll wager that most people don't.

That's why we need a democrat in office again, to clean up the Republicans' mess, and get a surplus going again. Crazy cycle, isn't it?

I disagree. The Democrats are every bit as damaging as the Republicans.
Somebody's got to step up to the plate , declare that this bloated monster is bankrupting us as well as destroying our liberty, and take a chainsaw to it.

It's about to get much worse. It looks like the government is about to take over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, sticking the taxpayer with a very large bill for the bailout.

No they dont care, which is why Barack Obama is being seriously considered for President. Have you seen this man's ideas? He will make that $53 trillion a penny drop into the bucket with the massive spending he wants to create.

I doubt Obama could do worse than Bush. Democrats have historically been much better at managing the budget.

You want to flesh that out and tell us exactly how and compare it what John McCain will spend? Talk is cheap, show us how you determined that Obama will spend more than McCain. Don't be selective and leave out things like defense spending. Give us a comparison. I'll read it.

No this is just a wake up call for their spending. Its a way to punish them by filling them with anxiety and nervousness..

Excellent Doug! And from the Congressional Budget Office, no less.

Your turn The Hat.
