McCain is moving right but nodding to old Democratic political cliches and figures... The assumption is that he needs to romance his base and that "independents" can be won over with superficial displays.

I said that was subtly implied not that I agreed with it.

Though some of his proposals have been a little on the appeasment side of things, but I do think he believes they're the best moves for the country.

McCain is trying to use the "change" mantra just as much as Obama. In fact, neither will be able to make dramatic changes.

The "country first" line is particularly irksome. It insinuates that there are no valid differences of opinion about what constitutes the best for the "country".
