I'm a little torn on it, how do you feel?
I think that public schools should teach biology and evolution. I don't really see any reason why they couldn't also offer some sort of elective studies in Christianity (or any other religion), too, which might cover the theory of creationism (though if the class tried to claim that all Christians believe in creationism then it would be stepping into proselytizing territory).

Basically, if there's an interest in the community, and someone qualified to teach, then I think it makes sense for public schools to offer all kinds of religious studies as electives. Scholarly knowledge of Christianity and its history and its own (however ironic) evolution can serve a person well. But in science class, teach science.

Not freely voted. They obtained power through violence and coersion
The elections were free and fair (and no one has ever suggested otherwise). The Nazi's and Communists fought on the streets, etc., but no one was forced to vote for anyone. They could have voted for any party they wanted. Sure they were violent, but only toward other parties. Parties the people could have voted for (parties people did, in fact, vote for). The Nazi's won more seats. All democratic like.

The Nazis, sensing total victory, campaigned with fanatical energy. Hitler was now speaking to adoring German audiences of up to 100,000 at a time. The phenomenon of large scale 'Führer worship' had begun. On July 31, the people voted and gave the Nazis 13,745,000 votes, 37% of the total, granting them 230 seats in the Reichstag. The Nazi party was now the largest and most powerful in Germany.
They were legitimately voted into office and Hitler was later handed power the next year. When it came to keeping power, however, that was another matter. But his rise to power was legit. Had the people voted for another party he would have been a footnote to a couple of German elections.

Your idea of democracy is a bit more liberal than mine then.

Yes, indeed. Here are some more facts about the war between the states that are not taught in public schools - namely that the war was not fought over slavery:

"Over the past several years I have received hundreds (maybe thousands) of emails from people who have read my writings about Lincoln’s suspension of habeas corpus, his imprisonment of thousands of Northern war dissenters, his shutting down of hundreds of opposition newspapers, his not-so-hidden economic agenda, and other well-documented facts and have asked: "Why wasn’t I taught that in school?" Or, "I was a history major in college and I never heard of that!" The chapters of Lincoln Unmasked devoted to the gatekeepers explain why."

"The U.S. was the only country in the entire world during that time where war was associated with emancipation. The British and Spanish empires, and the French and Danish colonies all chose the peaceful route to emancipation, which occurred in Argentina, Columbia, Chile, all of Central America, Mexico, Bolivia, Uruguay, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, and elsewhere prior to Lincoln’s war. Brazil ended slavery peacefully after the war. Ninety-four percent of all the slaves that were brought to the Western Hemisphere were brought to these countries; about 6 percent ended up in the United States. The former group was emancipated peacefully. Lincoln never utilized his legendary political skills to do what the rest of the world did with regard to slavery, and end it peacefully."

Lincoln's purpose in fighting the Civil War was not to free the slaves:

"My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union. I shall do less whenever I shall believe what I am doing hurts the cause, and I shall do more whenever I shall believe doing more will help the cause." The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume V, "Letter to Horace Greeley" (August 22, 1862), p. 388.

"I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races - that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race." The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume III, "Fourth Debate with Stephen A. Douglas at Charleston, Illinois" (September 18, 1858 ) , pp. 145-146.
