Whenever a conservative loses an argument to a liberal, he immediately labels the other a socialist, a communist, or something along the lines of that.

These terms are meant to fuel fear. It is absolutely ridiculous. Not all socialist ideas are bad. When 1% of America controls something like 40% of the income, there is a problem. Maybe resdistribution of wealth on a small scale would not help. Progressive taxes won't kill anyone. Instead of calling someone or ideas socialist or communist, explain why they are bad.

There are also meant to fuel fear. Not all conservative ideas are bad. Lower taxes can be a good thing. Shifting people who are on welfare to working is not a bad thing. Lessening taxes on the wealthy might not hurt, as it can create more jobs. Instead of calling someone a neocon, McSame, or any other stupid name, explain why the issues are bad.

On the other hand if their insults are left to stand, we can see who is who, and avoid reading their posts in the future. They will, by their actions, become ever less relevant, more stigmatized, and eventually, hopefully not find an audience, or become self disciplined and more reasonable. That would be the best possible outcome.

This is one of the worst forums I've ever seen when it comes to name calling and personal attacks from both the conservative and liberal sides. It's almost impossible to have a civil discussion here without it quickly degenerating into temper tantrums and personal vendettas.

I've only been posting here for a few days and I'm already looking for a different political discussion board to join because I'm already sick of this garbage.
