Died in 1955? I'm not so sure. If I correctly remember that article in the World Book Encyclopedia that my Dad bought when I was a child, Churchill served as PM 1940-1945 and again 1951-1955 but then later was voted honorary American citizenship in 1963 and died in 1964(?).

I'm recalling two college graduation speeches Churchill gave (though I'm sure he gave many more). One was the famous Iron Curtain speech. Another went something like this: "Never give up! ... (long pause) ... Never give up! (long pause)... Never give up!" Wasn't one of those after he left his position as PM?

1965 I was living in London when he died and I remember the funeral being broadcast on tv and my mother still has press cuttings. January I think it was, anyway I'm pretty sure it was northern hemisphere winter.

Did you know the word "gullible" isn't in the dictionary?

I've still got an encyclopaedia my father bought when I was about 9 or 10. I can remember tracts of it, I used to love reading it for pleasure.

Sorry, thread drift.

That's because you can't argument facts, you just fall back on meaningless dogmatic crap.

yeah... I wrote about that in my post too... pretty hypocritical. Biden with that astronomically low percentage, Obama with about 6% and McCain with 28%.

That's OK , one of my prized books is a 1920 Cyclopedia of Farming. Then I have a first printing of Mitchells Gone With the Wind.

I hardly think a dictionary definition qualifies as "dogmatic crap" .
