Default What are the primary responsibilties of a Mayor/Govenor

While Obama is disputing Palins creditials for VP, he should remember that a Mayor or Govenor responsibilities includes everything! From payroll, to budgets, to policy, it begins with the top spot position. If there is problems, those solutions begin with the Mayor, or Gov of a state. Community organizers, like a congressmen or Senator can blame others for their inability in doing their jobs. Considering all the responsibilities given to leaders of cities/states, Palins experience far out weighs Obama's

She was incharge of town of 6000 people. While small town mayors work hard and do a lot they don't have to face the complications and multiple issues of a big city mayor like Houston, Texas. Palin would even have problems running a big and complicated city like Houston, much less the United States. Senators are also in charge of allocating funds to road projects and allocating funds to their constituents in their district. U.S. senators make many national decision that a small town mayor of 6000 wouldn't be able to.

Mayor/Govenor Palin has withstood the test of governing. He 80% approval rating shows that, and she had a high approval rating as Mayor. Granted her city/state not as large as Texas, it's value is in the ability to govern, and understand the complexities requried within the city/state. If there is failures in governing it begins from the top down. Very rarely do congressman get heat for failures in the state, most state would blames Gov. for failures. Obama hasn't had any real responsibility, therefore he doesn't own his failures.
