Default The Good Old DOUBLE STANDARD!

The old double standard.
For the first time in my voting life I am beginning to see a ground swell of angry Democrats, but it may be too little and too late. For years and years and (*)(*)(*)(*)ing years, the Dem's have rolled over while the Rush Limbaughs, the Karl Roves and the rest of right wing attack machine have taken every cheap shot, used rumor, innuendo and down right lies to smear and discredit anyone who had the courage to run on the other side. I heard recently that Barack Obama is going to take the gloves off... I'm waiting. I heard he was going to lift his ban on 527 ads... well there is one maybe? I haven't seen much yet, but what I have seen is huge amount of hypocritical outrage from the right every time anyone even asks them the smallest question that they don't like. Suddenly the big sharks are playing the victim. It's bull(*)(*)(*)(*) and we shouldn't let it stand. Cindy McCain said the other day that the women on "The View" (the (*)(*)(*)(*)ing View for God's sake) were so hard on her and her husband that they "picked their bones clean". I have to laugh. What they objected to were a couple of questions... "How Many houses do you have?" To which Cindy McCain refused to answer. Then they were asked if they wanted to over throw Roe v Wade. They dodged for a few minutes then said yes and finally, after when McCain said over and over than he wants to stack the Supreme Court with "strict constitutionalists", Whoopi Goldberg had the nerve to point out that sometimes we have to change the constitution. But McCain was firm on strictly following the constitution, and Whoopi asked him if that is the case did she need to worry about a return to slavery. Apparently the McCain's were appalled. Again, I had to laugh at their false outrage.
I think the GOP should get every bit of bile and vitriol they ever spewed, thrown right back in their hypocritical faces. But lets not just give it to them, let's serve it up with a dose of their own hypocrisy.
Here's a few examples of what I mean-

When the GOP insists that any less than glowing mention of Sarah Palin's pregnant teenage daughter, her delinquent son, or the down syndrome prop baby, is off limits because it's sleazy to go after a candidates kids. Remind them of this.
"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno." John McCain- 1998
"Everyone knows the Clintons have a cat, Socks, in the White House. But did you know there is also a White House dog?" Rush Limbaugh. He then held up a picture of 9 year old Chelsea Clinton.
The Right was outraged when retired General Wesley Clark dared to question the validity of McCain's military service as a basis for the job of President of the United States. What Clark said exactly was this- “ I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president,”
My reply to that is this...

"My view is he (John Kerry) basically will go down in history as the Benedict Arnold of 1971." Bud Day, part of the Swiftboat Veterans Campaign. He now heads up John McCain's "TRUTH SQUAD". Yep... one of the guys that brought the term Swiftboating into the vernacular as a synonym for dirty political smearing now heads up McCain's Truth Squad. Ya gotta love the balls on these guys.

The McCain camp declares that it is irrelevant to mention that John and Cindy McCain own so many houses that they lost count.
Yet when John Edwards built ONE big house for his family Bill O'Reilly went on about it for weeks claiming it was next to a trailer park where all the poor people there told his producer that they hated Edwards (proved to be a lie.. his people spoke to no one).

And while we are on Edwards, lets not forget the $300,000.00 outfit that Cindy McCain wore to the GOP convention. We hardly heard a peek from the press, but when John Edward's got a $400 haircut FOX "NEWS" (that always cracks me up) went on for weeks. Sean Hannity stopped using his name and just called him "$400 haircut boy". Ann Coulter was more blunt... she called Edwards "a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)".

Then finally there is the issue of marital infidelity. The Republican party had Bill Clinton IMPEACHED over a blow job. They are OUTRAGED over John Edwards affair. They have implied that Hillary Clinton is gay and had an affair with her aide, Huma Abedin. They also implied Hillary had an affair with friend Vince Foster. When Foster later committed suicide, they claimed the Clinton's had him killed. Here's what they don't say-

Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich acknowledged having an affair during the time he was spearheading the Clinton Impeachment. But that wasn't the first time around for frisky Newt. He dumped his first wife at her hospital bed while she was suffering from cancer so he could run off with his mistress.
Rudy Giuliani informed his second wife, Donna Hanover, of his intention to seek a separation during a 2000 PRESS CONFERENCE. (and I thought breaking up by text was harsh). The announcement was precipitated by a tabloid frenzy after Giuliani marched with his then-mistress, Judith Nathan, in New York's St. Patrick's Day Parade!!
Republican Representative Vito Fossela after being arrested for drunk driving, acknowledged that he had fathered a 3 year old daughter in an extramarital affair.
And John McCain---
and his wife... no no not the Budweiser girl, his first wife, the one who nobody mentions... Carol McCain. They were married 14 years, five of which she spent raising their children while he was in a prisoner of war camp. He admitted cheated on her repeatedly and eventually the 43 year old McCain began an affair with a 25 year old cheerleader he met in Hawaii. Described as being as rich as she was beautiful. Poor old Carol couldn’t compete with young Cindy, since while he was in Vietnam she had a horrible car accident and didn't look like the model she once was. Carol out... Cindy in.
The list goes on and on and while it doesn't excuse the indiscretions of the Dems. It clearly points to the hypocrisy of the GOP. These guys are cheaters yeah but they are liars and manipulators too. They never take the high road and they traffic in gossip rumor and innuendo while spewing out their feigned outrage and moral superiority and Christian Family Values. They are full of (*)(*)(*)(*) and it's about time that we call them on it.

What and this is new to you?

All of them do it, it is both sides. And the end justifies the means. Your not talking about winning the football game so you can %^&* the head cheerleader. You are talking about winning the most important job in America, maybe planet.

There is no such thing as second place in this game, only first place loser and the Winner……………

All of them do it, that was my point. To point at Republicans or Democrats is hypocrisy on both sides. The both point, they both use the media to do it. They both cry, they both use the blame game. It is an election also, so it goes up ten fold. It has been this way since the start of this country. Sure they get busted more now, because of the net and TV. But has been going on before we were here and will be after we are gone.

It’s no different than another poster here stated that he was for Obama. Well that’s ok, but his reason was. McCain is a liar, sure Obama has lied, just McCain has lied more. What kind of BS is that?

My take on it is that, if both are liars and you don’t like liars, vote third party. Why are you voting on liars, unless you like them?

So if you don’t like the double standards, don’t vote for any of them, go third party.

Default Double standards? Which of the thousands?

Double standards? We are famous for them. We lead the world. We say we are allowed to do stuff but if anyone else does something similar, they are baaaaad!! Which of course makes us a bunch of illogical hypocrites.

The one that follows must have Europe laughing its a-ss off. WE are accusing modern Russia of being bullies. Whoa - wait, it is Ms Rice saying that. Welcome back oh princess of the Double Standard. Great job you did on Mexico earlier, had them real pi-ssed at us.

So we are allowed to break international protocol and march into other countries. No, no, no, don't presume that it was just Iraq, although that was a classic - we don't like your Head of State so we are going to try to tell the French that he represents a threat to the world because of his stack of WMDs. No, no, no, it wasn't WMDs, he deserved regime change. Who says so? We the mighty US of A do.

No, try also Haiti .... Nicaragua .... Panama ..... Granada ... Guatamala .... need more?

And you know what (big grin - then starts to laugh), we now call the Russians BULLIES (exhuberant chortling, then calms down).

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/200809...e-ca02f96.html

"Rice described Moscow as increasingly authoritarian and aggressive " Ms Rice, do you mean only we are allowed that right? On what grounds?

"Russia's leaders will not accomplish their primary war aim of removing Georgia's government" Ms Rice, you mean the Ruskies are not allowed to opt for regime change? Why are we but not they allowed to select this?

" .... make it clear to Russia's leaders that their choices are putting Russia on a one-way path to self-imposed isolation and international irrelevance" You mean like France, Germany and most of Britain, and vast majorities of other countries believe that we became in 2003?

""The United States and Europe must stand up to this kind of behaviour, and all who champion it." They did Ms Rice. Then we invented Freedom Fried and poured European wine down the drain. Remember?

What a hypocrite!!! She's in the same club as McCain, right?
