I am not quite sure why we oppose a Nuclear Iran. I know it seems obvious. "What, those raving US hating madmen with NUKES! Are you NUTS?"

There is, imo, a pretty good chance that all Iran really wants is respect in the International Community and they see becoming a Nuclear Power as the path to that respect. If they get Nukes and become a Nuclear Power they may well become much less radical.

On the other hand, they Nuke Israel. So, Iran nukes Israel, Israel nukes Iran.

We lose two major sources of trouble in the Middle East and our hands are completely clean. It is a win/win situation for us.

With no Israel the major propaganda basis for Islamic Hatred of the US vanishes, and we find it much easier to deal with the Muslims.

With real luck, the Israelies will nuke Mecca and Medina as well, a nice if we die everyone in the middle east dies as well gesture from the Israelies.

The total nuclear destruction of Mecca and Medina would strike a blow against Islam similar to the destruction of the Temple in Israel by the Romans. It will demoralize Muslims around the world for generations making them must less radical and easier to deal with.

Again, our hands are clean. So, lets let Iran get Nukes. They may just want respect and may become a much less radical country when they have nukes.

If not a nice limited nuclear war sweeping away the problem areas there will only work to our advantage in the long run.
