Default Another Book

Former Nixon council, John Dean, has written a book about the secrecy and deception of the Bush Administration.

More on his opinions:

So how many books by long time credible people going to be written trying to tell the truth about this administration?

I saw this guy interviewed on FOX, on the Hannity and Colmes show. And the ONLY arguement the Hannity guy had was, "Don't you know this is going to hurt the president" Then he proceeded to go on the attack against Dean with some quotes from the 70's. This was the best rebuttal the guy had. I have started to watch Fox sometimes just to amuse myself with their flagrant right wing agenda. Then they have the nerve to bash other shows for having a left wing agenda. The Hypocrisy is really comical sometimes.

Uh....the other half of "Hannity & Colmes" is a liberal. That's where the "fair and balanced" part comes in.

As far as John Dean and another attempt to make money off a book: what the hell does he know about anything? Your opinion and my opinion carries as much weight as HIS does. He's been out of government for a long time. It's like that old saying...."Opinions are like ass*****......everybody's got one."

Oh, JP, don't forget to start eighteen other threads about how John Dean is Toast/Discredited/To blame.......

The highlighted "what does [enter name here] know about anything?" is a jp5 classic. That's becoming one of my favorites. Very well thought out.

And Colmes: it's obvious hannity's running the show. i've never once see Colmes stand up to him. And he just seems liberal compared to Hannity-he's actually pretty centrist. On a side note, I think Hannity is just trying to cash in on the angry Conservative thing. I am fairly sure he is actually a liberal (in real life). It's just a big act. (for real!)

Default Dean's comments are interesting

Dean and Bill Moyers together on NOW was interesting. Both had worked inside of administrations, so both have a very good idea of how things work on the inside. Here's the transcript, and Dean starts a bit past half way down the page.

There is certainly a very big pile of money being made. That is basically what David Brock's book 'Blinded By The Right' is about, although Brock would have us believe that at some point it wasn't just the easy money and cheap fame that motivated him.

A neighbor of mine, Lars Larson, was on local talk radio and is now being syndicated by Clearchannel. Lars worked for PBS (!) before he got his C ticket punched and signed on for the serious money. Lars is about as rabidly right wing as you are marybeth, but his new house is really something to see... don't tell anyone I told you though. Lars view is that it's like pro wrestling; it's all a sham to amuse the yuckleheads and somebody is going to do it, so why shouldn't he and his family enjoy the proceeds.

While I agree that we all sell out to some degree somewhere along the line, that is well out of my comfort zone.

Default .

Unless I'm very much mistaken, Hannitty descends from the irish, I know that rabid right-wing thinking isnt on anyone's mind here.

The right wing stampede starters are no different than shock-jocks, everyone listens and says "i cant believe he said that"

Default Dean and Hannity

I listened to Dean on Hannity's radio show. Every time Hannity opened his mouth, Dean ate him alive with facts -- within a few minutes, Hannity just kept his mouth shut because he knew he was out of his league. I wish I had a recording of that because it was one of the most amusing moments of my life, to see Hannity completely stopped by the facts (something he usually doesn't let get in the way of his idiotic diatribes).

If Hannity ever EVER really had a debate that wasn't setup in advance, or something other than weak, ignorant callers, he would be chewed up and spit out.

Hannity is a complete farce as is that joke of a "liberal" Colmes. Colmes is a spineless know nothing -- and to be honest I think he is just a mechanism in place to allow Hannity to look like he knows something.

Hannity and Colmes is an entertainment show un-newsworthy and should not be confused for a factual, news based show. If you use Hannity as your news source, then you are a Bush Zombie... lol.

Its so sad that the only way the truth is able to get out is writing a book, it does not say much for democracy and the press.
