I would still save the mother. She is not one, but two lives, making her life more important.

And you assume that potential life is equivalent to the full life of a person? No matter, who would you save next?

I never said potential life was the same. If you leave the woman, she and her unborn baby could die. There is one life, and one potential life, so she comes first.

Second, I'd save the young man, the father of the baby. The baby may need a daddy, and the young man, being young, and likely in good health, has a better chance of survival than the old man.

The old man I would save last. He does not concern me. He is very old and has lived a good life. The two young people have not lived a good life, and are preparing for the arrival of their child. The old man comes last because his life is not as important as the others.

Well... in that case... Woman, old man, then young man. In that order. Woman first because it's two lives, old man next because (for the same reason as I stated above...) I'd figure the youn man could hold out longer, so he'd be last.

Again, equal opportunity of death for all. The young man and old man have equal chances of dying. But the longer you wait, the risk of one dying increases.

Still save the mother. The old man comes last because he is old and has lived his life, and isn't worth as much as the other two/three.

No offence to old people.

That could be said for all of them, couldn't it? It wouldn't make the decision any easier, and I still would save the woman first. Youngest to oldest is how I'd do it.
