It's acknowledged by many that poverty exacerbates the abortion problem.
It's acknowledged by many that illegalizing abortion just drives it under ground rather than stopping it, making it more dangerous and less transparent.
It's acknowledged by many that it does no real good for anyone to arrest a woman who has an abortion or goes for one.

Maybe some Catholics are more concerned with real life solutions instead of symbolic laws.
Social justice is after all part of their doctrine... and it plays a larger part in curbing abortion than fighting Roe ever will.

Partially because many Protestants aren't. The Social Justice standpoint works mostly with monetary values. The preaching of "Life being sacred" becomes a haze after the only options in the decision are to make the mother suffer or to kill the baby in a dumpster. The very nature of life is put under a microscope primarily because money becomes an issue. Social Justice becomes paying the government to start a program that might help someone out instead of having to go out and volunteer. Then there's the entire argument of is abortion killing? (Thou shalt not kill.)
