Hello! My question is, does Europe really need any kind of protection by means of American antiballistic missile systems deployed in Poland and Czech Republic? Well, I seriously doubt that! It is known that US missile systems have not been tested yet and even new-elected US president Obama calls these missiles "unproven" and admits that no one knows where they might hit the ground. That's "nice", isn't it? In addition to that, US missiles are capable of carrying nuclear warheads, which still makes it even worse not only for Poland and Czech Republic, but for the whole Europe, (*)(*)(*)(*) it!

One of the problems of those bases in Poland and Czech Republic is that EU was not consulted and was not able to give its opinion on those bases.

If I am not wrong, NATO was not consulted too.

Europe is better served with American Hegemony then a Russian one.

That is for the Europeans to decide. We didnt force Poland to take our AMS bases. They chose to.

Dont want American missiles? No one is forcing you to take them. Vote in politicians who will reject US missile bases. Problem solved.

If you dont do that, well, you have no one to blame but yourselves. Right?


The deal isnt between us and the EU. The deal is between us an Poland...and whatever other Euro-nations decide to accept American AMS bases.

Why should the EU get a say?


Unless it is a NATO system, I dont see why NATO deserves to be consulted. AMS bases will not affect our alliance.

No. But we also don't need lots of the military equipment we have. But Lockheed Martin and Boeing need it. Hence, we have it.

I didn't say ALL. I said LOTS. Not the same thing. A few nukes sitting around deters people. Did wonders for North Korea, too.

Not really, it just gives Russia an excuse to create a fictional enemy. For their whining to be valid they would have to prove that the USA intends to expand the system.

Also, there's only 10 interceptors in Poland and the radar station in the Czech Republic could easily be destroyed by Russian special forces. Even when the whole system is fully operational in 2012 it could never withstand the full brunt of the Russian Strategic Rocket Forces (note that the Strategic Rocket Forces is a separate branch of Russia's Armed Forces, that's how much they love their nukes).

That makes no sense. So it stands to reason you think that.
