hmmm...doesn't seem to be much scientific evidence that depleted uranium causes anything...the formula one teams used to use it for ballast to balance their chassis...and there isn't a rash of cancer in the formula 1 teams...

In solid/big form, it really isn't that dangerous since, it only interacts with the outside of your body. For instance, sitting in a tank that has DU-coating for protection is risky but not very dangerous.

The danger comes when DU is used as ammo. On impact, fire and dust with small particles get spread around. That is when it is lethal. Once inhaled, you're practically dead, or your children will get the bill. Also it is solvable in water, so it can contaminate water and soil. This explains the twelve fold increase of Cancer in the Basra region. That region was hit by the most amount of DU ammo in the first Gulf War.

And DU is used in ammo.

O the OBL logic: One has a problem with the leaders of a state and fights it out with their civilians, even though those civilians are not on the battleground. That's just nasty and the reason why I dislike the US.
