i personally think US is wayy better than UK in terms of racism. no idea where Captain is coming with the Idea that Europeans are better in handling this issue. did he see all the commotion going on in Denmark and N. Europe over Turkey being inducted into European Union? If he sees that i am sure he will change his mind.

Europeans are not very saintly when it comes to racism....just because he has a better chance of getting laid in Europe doesn't mean everyone in US is racist.

Please, we have enough intolerant Christians on this side of the Atlantic.

Commotion in Denmark? Heh, not really.

In September 2003, attackers tossed the bronze artwork in the water, where police later recovered it.
Pranks are common.

Also, there are many non-racial reasons for not wanting Turkey to join the EU. It's not about racism.

Yeah, I noticed that. I met a German woman the other day and she actually singled out the Turkish people in her country as being a huge problem. Germany allowed them in as "guest workers" 4 decades ago.....when they needed the cheap labor and the Turks needed the work. The Turks helped Germany to rebuild. Now that Germany has high unemployment, they are blaming the Turkish population for their problems. This is a problem with "guest workers." The entire discussion is not much different that our own issue with immigrants who have come illegally and stayed. At least the Turks came legally into Germany. But their wanting to kick them out now....after they've been in Germany for decades would be like our wanting to kick Mexicans who have been here for decades out.

Recognizing these problems does not make someone racist. But it does mean they have no business calling the U.S. racist unless they are willing to consider themselves racist as well.
