Default Terrorists beat america?

A thought occurs... why has there been no need for any other attacks on the US? because their aim has been achived?

What if 9/11 wasn't about fear of the populace, what if they have been a lot smarter than we have given them credit for? THink about it, 9/11 was only the detonator, america and it's predictability was the powder keg.

the way i see it is, what if 9/11 was only designed to get a predictable reaxtion form the american government. one little attack results america going to war, spending billions of dollors to add to an already bloated deficite, reduces americas world standing in the eyes of civilised countrys, spreads the military too thin, causes conflict in the country. all helping to lead to americas econmoic breakdown and at a time when chinas having a "industrial revolution" and starting too provide us with cheap alternatives which america will struggle to make up in the coming years.

Think about it, the americas predictable gun-ho actions has cost america finantially. economically, and politically far more than the loss of two towers ever could. just think how much americas spent to occupy desert.

it's sheer genious, this attack has made america destruct itself from within, far more than a thousand attacks ever could. 9/11 wasn't the blow to america....it was americas reaction to it which would cause the damage.

i should really post this to cnn....this is good stuff!

Default Short term problems

as long as the deficit isn't defended with "but we're at war" for too much longer. Maybe a short term victory for terrorists, but nothing more, as long as people don't get caught in the "but everything changed after 9/11" mindset.

Government types are hungry for power (and money). If they're successful in using the terrorist attacks as reasons (excuses) to blow out the budget and attack civil liberties (Patriot Act Parts II, III and IV), Osama will have proven to be the best thing that ever happened to their kind.

If Osama & Co. "win", it'll only be because we let him. Those who believe that the only way to fight this "war on terror" is with M16's... they'll guarantee this silliness to go on forever.

Exactly!

They have already won. Bush got relected largely because he's a "war president" and the sheeple won't change horses mid-conflict, even if that horse is running headlong of a cliff. The country is split right down the middle - we'd all rather bicker then work together. The entire world wouldn't shed a tear if we disappeared tomorrow. AND we started a smoke-and-mirrors war to haze over the fact that we couldn't catch the man who perpetrated the attack on us.

Sounds like a slam dunk to me.

Default We gotta get Munko to the track, Tedminator

When those methanol fumes hit his nostrils... problems? What problems?!

O/T, but that's what is so cool about racing: there are NO politics, just the experience. You could place G. Gordon Liddy beside Hillary Clinton and they'd still have the time of their lives.

Default Watch when Bush turns in his budget to congress

Myopic says........"A thought occurs... "

And there ya go: that's your problem. You've been thinking again.

And since you touched on deficits......I'm anxiously awaiting the reaction of the libs on this board when Pres. Bush turns in his budget for this year. I just read that it's going to contrain drastic cuts in some programs.....and some programs (the ones that aren't working anyway) aren't getting any funding. For all those who have "talked big" about how much money Bush has spent......let's all watch the 180 degree turn that I'm so sure they

And sure, Myopic....."terrorists have beat America." That's why they are "in hiding."

BTW, what was Britain's "excuse?"

the money america has spend 'revenging' 9/11 has cost far more than the attacks did, so its a super success. the more the US hunt 'terrorists' the more happy the terrorists are.

britains excuse for what?

Well....you said it's America's response and "revenge" to what happened to America. Britain's involved in Iraq, you know. And Britain's involved heavily in the war on terror. So....seeing as how Britain wasn't attacked....what's their excuse? Why are they involved if it's simply "America's revenge?"

Munko.. don't despair.. there are alternatives to the news you are watching.. Turn that crap off..

You've got to decide to change.. Its simply an attitude adjustment..

Conservatives are simply more positive while liberals are less positive and often depressed..

Always the victims.
