So who wants to defend it? I really don't understand why anyone could actually think that having the government spend a trillion dollars would ever help anyone out other than the government and the people who are getting directly paid. It's not going to help the economy, even if all the money gets spent where people think it should, and it's going to dig us further down into a hole where we already can't see light above us. Frankly, if this bill passes, we're effectively doomed for generations (more generations than we are already). And yet, our new president is saying that "catastrophe" will occur if we don't pass it. So go on, anyone want to support Obama's actions?

Paul Krugman, econofraud, would defend it...if it were bigger. But as it sits, it's not enough for his tastes. Recall that Krugman won a Nobel Prize and amongst his most famous statements, Krugman touted the potential stimulative and forward going benefits of the 9-11 attack on the economy, causing the much more realistic Thomas Sowell to suggest we take on the destruction of many large buildings, and thus we'd soon be farting through silk.

But he writes for the NYT so you'd better believe him.

I voted for Obama. I like some of the things he has done and have faith he will do some more good things. The bail outs I have been against since the beginning. Basically, we were held hostage.
