Default Constitutional Amendment on Marriage

We know that most of America is in favor of one, that's what put W over the top. It will be interesting to see how the democrats will defend their position to the Afro-American community. Another case of burning the candle at both ends.

Default .

I don't want intolerance in my Constitution. But then again, I believe that when we sing about the "land of the free" and when we talk about equal rights, we should actually guarantee freedom and equal rights. How foolish of me.

How about this? I'll trade a gay marriage amendment for a protection amendment for the unborn. What do ya think?

Default mid-term elections

Bush wouldn't want to lose them so these discriminatory issues won't even be on the table for two years.

Bush doesn't think like that. He's going full steam ahead on the issues he believes need to be addressed. And the Democrats reaction boils down to the fact that they do NOT want any of it fixed while a Republican is in office.....because they do NOT want a Republican getting credit for fixing an issue they consider "theirs."

That sounds like a fair trade.

..a rather narrow description of the opposition's views? Because they do not support Jr's version of "the solution" to SS, they don't want it fixed? I think everyone one realizes that SS needs an overhaul. But there seem to be a few options on the table.

It seems like you would like for everyone who disagrees to "bob our heads" and agree with Jr on everything.

Is there anything that you disagree with the President on? I know I am taking a huge risk in asking you for "independent thought" here but I would like you to at least try it.

Anything?

Default Bush will earn points among his sheeple,

but no amendment will ever happen. It's not easy to amend the Constitution and in the end it will not be deemed worth the fight. But the sheeple will be happy and that's all that counts.

..from what I hear and see (my own church included), the religious right are "pissed" off at Junior because they saw this as their issue. He snookered them on it and they bought it hook, line and sinker.

Sure..he will touch it every now and again but it has NO shot of passing and he knows that.
