Default Our media sucks

Our media is the worst it has ever been. With the exception of a few people, almost all people involved in FOX, CNN, NBC, etc. are the worst ever.

People like Hannity, who ask one question to an "opponent" and will not let the man answer, screaming mid-sentence at the man little insults about liberals. One time a liberal man was explaining interrogation to Hannity, and Hannity would not let him finish his explanations. Meanwhile, Hannity kept yelling "What do you want us to do? 'Please, tell us Mr. Terrorist!'". This was in defense of the Abu Ghraib torture

Then there's CNN's Blitzer, and even more respected people, like Rather, whose "highly placed sources" are a bunch of monkeys with keyboards they picked up on Google. Blitzer also seems to refuse to take on anyone who disagrees with him, and when he does, it's the dumbest, most worthless conservative propaganda-spewer on the planet.

The only person I respect nowadays is Peter Jennings, who I believe is the best face in media.

Default It's sad

When I have to use overseas news sources, like the BBC, to get the best coverage on events happening in my own country.

"Mass media breeds mass ignorance."
-Bumper sticker on a PBS supporter's car I saw. Can't disagree there.

But on a more serious note, the media does this on purpose. Informing the country is secondary to making money, which is the media's first priority. With that said, the media likes to intentionally stir up controversy or scare people (SARs anyone?) in order to improve ratings.

Why do you think that people watch O'Reilly over the round table discussions on PBS? Because the former, because of his various shenanigans, is more entertaining to watch. Sadly, people need "infotainment," which diminishes the quality of reporting across the board.
