The 25th ID operations in that city are documented and it starts at the end of the battle of Falluja, in late 2004.When the terrorist got there they didn't spare the civilians either, and after killing every policeman they could, started on the firemen. We pick up the story by Michael Yon on the 1/24 of 25 ID, the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment "Deuce Four".These soldiers were aware that the terrorist were seeking to run car bombs{VIEDs,} into their stryker vehicles and destroy them. When Yon was with them he was with the commander LTC Erik Kurilla on April 23, 2005 when, a large explosion was heard in the distance. A VBIED had succeeded in hitting a Stryker. He narrates: Quote:

"Deuce Four" is part of the 1st brigade of the 25 ID so thats how we conclude this is that incident. Out of all that is clearly news worthy, all that the press played up was the camera man that got shot. All that YON reported was push into oblivion except this terrorist cameraman. Seems the press thinks it can do anything it likes and get away with it these days.ARROGANT B@ST**** All they care about is a cameraman that is a collaborating being caught or shot???? Well remember that the next time we here them scream about a reporter or cameraman being :targeted" by the military.

On the flip side, the US media did not give the attack footage airtime. so you can probably give them a little credit for that. Some of those footage of AFVs getting blown up is ...very scary to say the least. As for the media companies being infiltrated by the enemy, that sucks all the way around. Unfortunetly it's the nature of this insurgency, the enemy could be anywhere at anytime... even being a REMF in Iraq is more a state of mind than a physical location from what I've heard.
