Default Republican Power

Should one party have all the power?

Default .

Make no mistake about it, we already have a one party system. Americans are not being ruled by the Republican Party or the Democratic Party, we are being ruled by the Political Party. Our government is controlled by Politicians who have no one’s interest at heart except their own and those who have paid to put them in power.

You don't think a one party system would be one step away from a dictatorship?... or are you saying you're OK with a dictatorship?

Default Exactly Sam!

The two party system is nothing more than a myth and a smokescreen to hide the fact that we really only have one party. It simply has two wings. Their goals are the same and there is little substantive difference. Vote for either one, what difference does it make?

If you were to go to sleep in 2008 and wake up two years later and survey the country you would never even be able to tell which party was in power without being told.

Um...no. Why would it. If one party is getting elected all the time it means a significant majority of people support that party.

If other parties are not being outlawed...whats the big deal?

Quote:
or are you saying you're OK with a dictatorship?
That is a non sequitur.

Are you saying people should not be allowed to vote for a certain party?

Irrelevant even if true. The masses vote them into office. They can vote for anyone they want. It is hardly a dictatorship.

Funny how no one was accusing the Democrats of being dictators when they owned Congress + The Presidency....several times. It's only "OMG! IT'S A DICTATORSHIP!!!!!111" when it's the Republicans that are in power...

Default I never said it was a dictatorship!

It's simply one party rule. There's a difference. We COULD vote the Green Party in. We COULD vote a Communist in. We won't, of course, because the Republicrats have convinced everyone that two parties exist, thereby giving them the illusion of choice. So no, it's not a dictatorship in the least. We do get to choose which member of said party tells us what to do. So at least we have that. And how do they decide what to tell us? By who pays them the most, of course.

Or...everyone simply agrees with the republicrats MORE than the commies or the hippies. Is that possible?

Yep. You can even choose people of different parties if you want. Sadly, you cant override everyone else simply because you dont like everyone else's choice. I'm sorry if that = "dictatorship" to you.

By whoever gets the most votes.

Default For the second time, I never said ANYTHING about

dictatorship. You are clearly getting me confused with someone else. Unless you would like to provide a link, of course. Good luck.

Actually, my point is that they don't even know if they do or not! Most people can't even find their own state on a map. And very few could tell you what any of the parties believe, Commie or Republicrat. The go in, flip the switch and put Joe Politician in office.

Quote:

That's what you are not getting: It doesn't matter who gets the most votes. They will all do essentially the same thing! Like voting for Click or Clack. Who cares? They all work for the same $$$$ and they will all do whatever those $$$$ say to do. Vote for A, vote for B. Whatever. It's all the same. The person getting the most votes is nothing more then the puppet chosen by the moronic masses. The $$$$ does not care who it is. Democrat? Fine. Republican? Cool. Now go fetch.

Don't get you're panties into a bundle! I don't think the Repuplicans are dictators, but I do believe that its possible that any powerful party can head in that direction without checks and balances. Can you say nuclear option? Just playing with those silly dems!
