Default Another wacky conspiracy theory

By John Daly
UPI International Correspondent

Washington, DC, Jun. 13 (UPI) -- Insider notes from United Press International for June 8

A former Bush team member during his first administration is now voicing serious doubts about the collapse of the World Trade Center on 9-11. Former chief economist for the Department of Labor during President George W. Bush's first term Morgan Reynolds comments that the official story about the collapse of the WTC is "bogus" and that it is more likely that a controlled demolition destroyed the Twin Towers and adjacent Building No. 7. Reynolds, who also served as director of the Criminal Justice Center at the National Center for Policy Analysis in Dallas and is now professor emeritus at Texas A&M University said, "If demolition destroyed three steel skyscrapers at the World Trade Center on 9/11, then the case for an 'inside job' and a government attack on America would be compelling." Reynolds commented from his Texas A&M office, "It is hard to exaggerate the importance of a scientific debate over the cause of the collapse of the twin towers and building 7. If the official wisdom on the collapses is wrong, as I believe it is, then policy based on such erroneous engineering analysis is not likely to be correct either. The government's collapse theory is highly vulnerable on its own terms. Only professional demolition appears to account for the full range of facts associated with the collapse of the three buildings."

----------------------------------

Words cannot describe the lunacy of these types of conspiracy theories. Yeah, President Bush would demolish the WTC Towers after planes hit them. And for what purpose?

Default ???

Geez. Hard to believe there are such insane people out there, isn't it?

Yeah.....now let me see: Bush sent in tons and tons of explosives and nobody saw any of it, eh?

And then he coordinated this with Islamic extremist who picked out 9/11 to fly the planes into the WTC, eh?

Was that before or after he warned all the Jews to not be there on that day???

Good Lord. And this guy is a professor of something???

Default It just goes to show

That hatred really clouds people's judgement. How else could a seemingly rational person believe such malarky?

Default disturbing lunacy...

particularly when you consider George had such a freak on the payroll - or did he just lately loose the one remaining marble?

but unfortunately, I've found more than one persion who wholeheartedly believe this garbage. I think some people just have the Oliver Stone syndrome, they love the thrill of a good conspiracy theory; so much that they even start to believe it and twist the facts to support it.

Default .

The man is an economist, for heaven's sake! Why would his analysis carry any weight? I've looked around and he does seem to want to put his two cents in about everything else though. Thank goodness most people will see this for what it is.

Default There is a small hole in his theory.

We've lent money to demolition companies and I've seen how a building is prepared for a controlled demolition. Just for starters it's gutted. Then explosive charges are put everywhere. On every floor. Then things like load bearing walls are taken out (not all of them, of course). For large buildings the steel girders that help hold the building together are even partially cut to ensure it all comes down. To prepare the WTC they would need a lot of time and you would think that several thousand people would notice all the changes! It's not like you just throw a few sticks of TNT in the lobby and hit a switch. A "controlled demolition" in a working building would be a real achievement, though, I'll you that. Very impressive indeed.

Default Even to a layman

It would seem highly unlikely that someone could secretly detonate charges to bring down two massive towers the size of the WTC towers.

Second, didn't the tower collapse from the top down? The video shows both towers crumbling from the damaged top and the remaining secions going down with it. How would this guy explain that? I suppose that the video must have been altered in some way....

Default It would be near impossible

to hide all the charges. But it would have been completely impossible to avoid people noticing all the building prep. They work together to ensure demolition. You need both for a controlled one. No freakin' way that's possible. Not even remotely. And why involve the plane? Just blow it up and blame the Arabs.
