Lots of people are talking about it, lots of articles have been posted on other boards about it, and yet the good people here seem to think it doesn't exist--simply because nobody here appears to be discussiong

IMPEACHMENT.

Now why is that, I wonder I wonder? There are press articles to post and opinion columns bringing this out front and center elsewhere.

Just not HERE. I wanna know WHY.

Besides, I really wouldn't mind it to be honest. That would make Cheney President, and he's even more of a conservative than Bush. I say, bring it on.

Just to throw in an actual opinion: Whether or not you think impeachment is justified, it isn't going to happen. No way will the GOP-controlled Congress impeach a GOP president unless we have pictures of him holding the smoking gun, standing over the body and laughing maniacally.

Despite circumstantial evidence, Nixon didn't get impeached until he was caught on tape planning the coverup. That's the level of evidence you need. In today's partisan atmosphere, simply being wrong and incompetent -- along with circumstantial evidence of intent to mislead -- isn't enough.

would know that the chances of a President getting kicked out of office, especially for matters dealing with national defense, require an overwhelming amount of (*)(*)(*)(*)ing evidence. If this certain memo is the only thing that has come up, I can do nothing but laugh uncontrollably. It's truly pathetic.
