I'm a moderator, and I have no idea what the site owner's political affiliation is.
I'm also by no means a conservative, but I'll ask you a question: Does it matter who owns the site?
Moderators are volunteers drawn from the ranks of board members. Everyone is free to create threads and post to existing threads. Our sole brief is to keep things civil and legal. Generally the only things we edit or censor are libel, foul language, personal attacks and copyright infringement (plus a range of minor stuff like posting advertisements or someone's private information).
The site owner usually only gets involved when a plurality of moderators asks him to, and then it's generally to carry out a decision made by the moderators.
As long as you keep it civil, you can post anything you want here, whatever your political persuasion. Further, the board is well-designed and runs smoothly and quickly. And it's free. What's not to like?
Frankly, the reason I like the board is because it contains a broad range of viewpoints, and isn't simply an echo chamber like the Free Republic or its liberal counterparts.
