Default The reason why the Health Care Bill will not be passed...

Just something I was thinking about the other day. Sort of surprised that I had not heard anyone else come to the same conclusion.

The basic split between the core beliefs of the Rep's and the Dem's is actually clasically illustrated in the health care bill. With no right or wrong... or even name calling here. By and large the Dem's believe that the govt should take care of everyone, and the Rep's believe more of the individual taking care of themselves. I think within each party there are those who waver a bit in both directions, but to some degree I think the above tendancy is a true one. At least I would hope that most who look at their philosophical systems, can believe I am trying to give them an honest assesment. No smearing of either side... just trying to call it as objectively as I can.

So let us assume that is correct. That will mean that no Rep should be voting for this bill. This is a bill that is fundamentally against what they beleive in. Not just certain aspects of it... but in it's very conception. On the other hand, with the inclusion of now Senator Franken, the Dem's have a clear majority... and the Rep's can do nothing about it..... So..... what exactly is stopping the Dem's from doing it? Why has there been no call to vote yet? The pres has done everything but beg for it to occur. So.... if it will automatically pass... then what is stopping it from happening?

The answer is simple.... FEAR. If after signing that bill something should go horribly wrong because of it.... they would have NO ONE to blame politically. They cannot blame Bush or the previous admin for this one.... nor could they blame the current Rep's, as they all voted NO.... Strangely ironic, that in this political game of chess... right when a checkmate is at hand... is preciesly when you cannot make your move to claim victory.....

The Rep's would have found themselves in exactly the same position, should the roles have been reversed. A politician is still a politiican.... A = A. And every good little politician lies awake at night scheming how to get re-elected. And they all know this could be a career killer.... Just my thoughts...

The simple fact is that some Democrats are relatively conservative, and don't value socialist policy. The Democrats have a clear majority, but the socialists do not, thank God.

That's been talked about for quite some time in my circles. I'm a little surprised you haven't heard anyone comment about this. It is always about re-election with politicians. There have been countless mentions in the WSJ and Investors Weekly about this very topic.
