Short answer: The alternatives were worse.

Though I don't think the alternatives were worse, I have to agree with Sadistic-savior. This really isnt worth arguing all over again.

Plus, it's not like it even matters. We are there. We are staying for a spell. Whatever. Were the alternatives worse? It doesn't matter. The tank is out of the barn. Now, history will decide.
