You guys know about preferential voting right? Where instead of only voting for one person you list candidates in order of preference?
Its a system that allows far greater expression and difference of opinion on a voter level, a far more accurate depiction of a nations' choices then a default two party system, because the masses do not need to be homogenised down to two basic belief systems. Discuss. |

I didn't think about the computers but I guess you are right- it would take ages otherwise, if and when the minor parties got going.
Ofcourse we've had that system here for a century-but then its always been largely 2 party anyway. Anybody who wants to defend the US's current system? Too politically neutra? |

And yes it is in use here in Australia, and in Europe somewhere. As I said it has worked well for us for a century. Coupled with standard country-wide voting forms and practices(hand counting) the practical side is very easy to deal with. Why succeptible to corruption Hans?
