Default Goodbye USA!-enjoy your freedom.

I am sitting in a Holiday Inn waiting to finish MEPS and ship out. I got a 81 on the Military test and an joining active duty Army, Infantry. I don't know when I will be able to get near a computer again so I just wanted to say fare well and keep up the debating.

Sorry to any I might have offended and I assure you again I am no Nazi the name is a pun on American parties. My political opinions have changed quite a bit with the time I have spent on this forum and with the help of Mike Savage and other wise non partisan commentators I have learned alot about the inner workings of American poloitics and where its flaws truly exist. Rather than slap a yellow ribbon on my car I chose to prove my support for the troops overseas by joining them. (not that anything is wrong with yellow ribbons) I will return home in two years and continue my sarcasm here hehe.

Any ex-troops or current troops with any advice about basic or AIT's now is the time to let me know.

Thank you Sadistic-Savior for your well thought out replies and topics. You have taught me a great deal. You are one of the most rational and level headed people I have seen post on this forum. Not to kiss ass, really im not coming out, I just hope you keep it up till I return.

Goodbye, stay safe, and support your troops.
(I might have a few day before I leave to respond to replies. Im gonna be stuck up in this hotel for a while)

Default .

I just caught on to your "birthday." I should have snapped sooner.

My husband was an Infantry officer. If he was here, I would ask him what to tell you. I can only say that attitude seems to be everything. You'll do fine. I wish you the best.

I guess you're on your way to Ft. Benning? You certainly will appreciate the haircut there.

My husband loved Airborne school. If you do decide to jump out of perfectly good airplanes, don't tell your Mom until AFTER.

Default Thanks

Good luck-- and thanks for putting it all on the line for America. Someone's gotta do it, and kudos to those who choose to.

Default no, thank you, if it wasnt for people like you

there would be no point in defending this country
much respect.

I thought about airborne but I'm just gonna start out simple and if I like it enough thats what im gonna shoot for.

My Birthday is actually Aug 6th but its 84 not 45. I found it kinda ironic when I learned about the events that are contributed to that day. Somehow it started this fascination with WW2 and since I've been 15 I have tried to learn all I could about why man would choose to exterminate each other in such a drastic way. It took me a long time to understand that its about stepping in and defending people who can't do that themselves and that finding peace is the number one goal. That is one of the main reason I chose to join. I cant do that at Subway or College.

I am confident that you will learn quite a bit if your going to Iraq, and I'm equally confident that your views will undergo unexpected and rather dramitic changes, after a relatively short time.

I think it's a shame that people involved in a war that is futile and not worth any American dying for discover for themselves the things that they have heard before they went, but I've seen this before, and you're certainly no exception in that regard.

It would be wise to understand that those whom do not want our troops dying in Iraq place the value of the lives of our troops, over the futile and/or a war not worth the deaths of any troops, as we care more about the lives of you folks, than the supposedly valid reason our troops are dyinig there.

Personally, I conclude that the best way to support our troops is to extract them from harms way, when they're involved in something that they shiould not be, or ever have been.

So, while your sig would suggest Liberals don't care about the lives of our Countrymen, it lacks in understanding that we place the value of your lives above dyiing needlessly. Comparatively speaking, as per the value of our troops lives and their dying in a war that shouldm never have been fought, when you place a wieght on what we value, and compare that to what others value more than your lives, the balance is incomparably in our favor.

It's rather a shame that no one here has made that clear to you, and instead you seem to suggest you would go into this war as your way to put an end to it, rather than place the value of our troops lives above a war that there will be no end to and that we don't even belong in.

I wonder if you are going because of a lack of work here. At this point in time, far fewer people here believe that we even belong there, and far more people want our troops out. It would be a shame if a post like this was created to have anyone think that the war in Iraq is worth a single drop of their own blood, or the blood of our troops.

Let us know how it goes. We'll watch for you on TV.

I was a tank officer, but I have some good friends who were track grease... er, infantry. 12th is right, attitude is everything. If you can play the game, you'll do fine. If you let it get to you, you'll have problems. Realize that the harassment is just that -- harassment. Tune it out, concentrate on soaking up the training and keep remembering why you joined.
