can the west do anything to halt the spread of "martyrdom" attacks?

but i think the more attacks, the more bad people die, right? i mean if there were no suicide attacks, all these suicided people would be still alive today! it's a nutshell. so to all liberal kooks, here's proof that we are winning the war on terror. right? sadistic, back me up.

we could listen to what Osama has to say about why he is doing what he is doing, and fix some of the valid problems he brings to light. For instance, supporting the corrupt regime in Saudi Arabia and keeping our troops on holy land there. Now, I in no way agree with Osama on what he did, but I think we should listen to his reasons for doing that, and maybe, just maybe, if we can stop acting like uncaring world police the terrorists will stop being so pissed-off.

I dont see the American government disassociating itself with Saudi Arabis, or for the more extreme people, Israel, anytime soon. Until oil is no longer a priority we will be in business with these people.

After we reach the oil peak and civilization begins to crumble, you will see many changes. For one, a desparate grab and run on any remaining oil reserves. I think thats one reason we are there, for when its time to stock up for the long haul. Its going to take awhile to overhaul our entire way of life to use other forms of energy. And until that is done, we are going to have big problems.

By the time its all over I assume the human race will be significantly thinned out, and we will probably be looking at continental political entities instead of countries. IE North America, Western Europe, etc... Banding together is really the only way to save as many people as possible in a scenario such as this.

Back to the topic at hand:

Even if we did stop being international (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) bags, some extremists would still attack out of pure bloodlust. They wouldnt have any support though, and so their attacks would be nothing compared to what they are today.

yep, in another 10-50 years only police and military vehicles will be on the roads. 90% of worlds population will be dead. most of them in civilised countries like USA where ppl r so dependent on oil. 2 years ago this was a nutty conspiracy theory, now with oil prices rising, even networks like msnbc are starting to talk about it. but they hide it as much as possible, because they don't want to cause kayos. that's my opinion. i don't think i will get old before very very serious changes take place.

as long as we understand who the real terrorist is, maybe we can help ourselves at least, because i don't see how any of us could get thru to neo cons on this board or in general. they are sheep with rights and a tongue.
