Hello everyone,
this is the first time I have used this forum before and I hope you will find my topic interesting and hopefully I will find your feedback extremley useful. I am a British student about to start studying Politcs at Edindburgh Uni. I have submitted my topic for the first term, where I have to write a 4,000 word essay, the question 'Who will be the next Conservative leader and why?' Now obviously I have to finish this before the Tories vote for their new leader in late October. I chose this topic because firstly it is a extremley relevant and also very interesting topic as it could decide the future the Tory party takes and whether or not it can defeat Labour. I should probably point out I am a Labour voter, so I honestly don't know too much about some of the candidates. This is where any Conservative in the UK or any observer of UK politics comes in. Please tell me who you would like to see leader of the Conservative party? Do they need to change policy? Or their image? How will they defeat Labour in the next election?
If you could give me any of your insights into any of these questions I would be thrilled. Thank you and Hello from Britain!

As an irish person i keep an eye on British politics, now the Tories next leader is a hard one.
Because in many ways its a bit of poison chalice, the Party itself will have to change more before any leader can run it efficiently.
I suspect they'll go for another caretaker figure and try and defer making up their minds.
